I finished my first rotation back at SageWalk two weeks ago and spent my time off traveling to Reno, Sacramento, and San Francisco. As of noon today I no longer have any commitments here at Western Washington University. My last final was on Monday and my last retreat with my classmates ended today. The retreat was on Orcas Island which I found to be quite the appropriate ending to my time here in Bellingham seeing as the San Juan Islands were what attracted me to this area in ( Read more... )

1) I'm getting my Mom's Outback in place of my Camry when I go home for Thanksgiving.

2) I got a letter from a past student which means that I must have been doing something right this past summer. I rock.

I just found out that a student of mine from my last rotation wrote me a letter! Someone loves me! A student wrote a letter! To me! Me!

Now I really want to go back to work.

I need to continue working on celebrating the things I am good at. I also need to learn to be okay with the fact that there are things out there that no matter how much I desire to be good at them, no matter how much time and effort I put into working on them, and no matter how much fun I may have doing it I will always suck. Must release intense creative energy welling up inside. Must move.

If only I took the time to have little spurts of creative time every now and then instead of letting it all build up like this to the point of explosion.

I'm in a such a new head space for me. I feel settled but not at the same time. My apartment is terribly temporary. I have one knife, no oven, no salt, and a mini fridge. I'm currently sleeping in a sleeping bag on my fancy-wancy sleeping pad. But my life, the direction I am headed, seems so settled. I'm not too sure I've ever felt this content and ( Read more... )
