Rest assured that this is one Virginian who is anxiously waiting to see if the rest of the state is intelligent or if they're all going to buy into the boogie man mentality of the far right (keeping my fingers crossed that most of us are intelligent).

The results are nearly all in, and the majority of Virginians suck.

Maybe they're all the people from elsewhere who live here because of the government? One can hope.

The only promising thing is that it has about a 99% chance of being shot down in the courts as being unconstitutional.

Whee! Thanks for being a non-sucky Virginian! And let's hope it will be struck down.

I voted yes for question 1, but in Maryland that's a measure to make it harder for Gov. Erlich to sell off all our parkland. :3

I am purposely not following the election tonight, instead I'm going to play Final Fantasy XII til my eyeballs drop out. I will survey the results in my newspaper when it hits my doorstep around 4am in the morning.

I am made curious by your remark about absentee voting, are you planning on returning to the US or are you in Europe indefinitely?

I'm planning to stay here indefinitely. But I still technically can vote for the national elections, I think, having US citizenship. I used to be in NY-20 (Yay! They finally voted that asshole Sweeney out!) and I re-registered for DC, but they never sent me my voter registration, so I'm not sure where I am still registered.

Aw, it's sad that I'll never see you again most likely.
So are you a 'dual' citizen at this point then?

I'll be back to US occasionally, hopefully either next year or 2008. If there's a ConneXions in 2008, I'd definitely consider going, since I need to get some documents from my schools that year.

And yep, surely am one.

Personally I believe it's unconstitutional to deny rights to one segment of the population based on what is essentially a religious issue. If the churches don't want to recognize same sex marriages, fine. That's their prerogative, but to use the law to force their prejudice and religious beliefs on everyone else is just wrong!

Yeah. Who the fuck cares? Are the gay people forcing random people off the street to marry them? Even my 70-year old grandma is mostly okay with gay marriage, because she's got bigger worries, like pension, and her health, and just doesn't give a fuck about who's getting married, generally, unless it's me or my father. Here, to console yourself, watch some fun animations, particularly this one and this one. *sends you Keller in the buff*

Nope, it's still unbearably warm. Some guy was wearing shorts and T-shirt yesterday. The grass is disgustingly green. And me - I am sick as a dog - been getting a new flu simptom every day since I got it last Thursday...
