THE SKY IS BLUE.

WHY IS THE SKY BLUE?!

THERE'S A SUN AND IT'S MOVING IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?!

I... it's so pretty! Is it real?! It has to be real! The Artificial Sun doesn't move, so this must be a real one oh my gosh I've never seen a real sun before THIS IS SO COOL I LOVE THIS WORLD.

[Aaand a deep breath after that run-on sentence.]

Really? You've never seen a real sun? Ah, I promise it's really really real!

...Oh wait! Does that mean you've never seen a sunset or a sunrise before? Those are really pretty too! The sky turns lots of different colors!

Nuh-uh! I didn't even know that real suns were, well, real!

The sky turns different colors?! ...THE SKY CAN BE MORE THAN ONE COLOR?!

The sky can be lots of different colors! It can be pink and orange and purple and red and yellow-ish all at once! It's really beautiful! And sometimes you can see rainbows, but those are pretty rare I think.

I... I don't think I've ever seen a rainbow before. And I've definitely never seen the sky turn that many colors, let alone all at once! Are you this isn't a dream? Then again, I don't think I'm creative enough to think of that sort of thing.

Hey! I'm not dumb! I'm from a world wow that's weird to say with an artificial sun, and I grew up where there was barely any sunlight.

If the sun changing is the biggest thing that excites you, you're going to be in for a really wild ride.

Why wouldn't the sky be blue?

putonsomepants July 29 2009, 04:39:04 UTC
Because... it never is on my world. Not this sort of blue. And the sun doesn't move either.

... What, seriously?

Yep. The sun back home is artificial. It's in the Akatsuki District, where all the top officials and aristocracy live. It's bright there all the time. My home is separated by a class system; I grew up in a poorer district, so I didn't even get to be in the daylight until I became a Letter Bee.

It's pretty... but the stars are pretty, too.

Stars are pretty, but I've seen so many growing up. It's nice to see the sky change.

But when they disappear space seems so far away.

Isn't space supposed to be far away?

Of course the sky's blue. Haven't you ever seen it before...?

Not... not like this. The artificial sun on my world isn't high enough in the sky for it to be this bright, and it definitely never gets this bright in the outer districts!
