Yoshino ♥ Okita. I mean, she also adores Tatsu and Susumu very much, but Okita is #1. Originally it was because she knows Okita is the most historically badass, but she's gradually come around to liking the Shinsengumi in camp as real people, and not just figures to idolize. She thinks Okita is strong, wise, and kind- someone untouchable that you love and respect, but never fear. Someone you can joke around with if you want, but someone who knows when to be serious and basically, she adores and admires him. But even though she doesn't like Okita in any sort of romantic way, she is a little disappointed that they did not become victims of the mistletoe.
With each day, Yoshino appreciates the Shinsengumi being in camp even more because they're a good distraction/escape. Like, "screw going back home and going to school THERE ARE SHINSENGUMI HERE FOR CHRISSAKES and I LIVE WITH THEM. STOP MISSING HOME, MORE FANGIRLING PLZ. :(" She really likes having all of them under her roof because she's a bit possessive of them in a way. As in, if she

YES SHE WOULD, this is even the exact icon that would be used. :( He would even get a very heartfelt, genuine, little speech about how she values him as a friend and how she would miss him and basically very sappy, warm fuzzy type things because that is how Marimite characters roll.
As for small children, and cute animals and cute things in general: Yoshino is completely apathetic. As long as said small child respects his elders and listens like a good boy, she doesn't have a problem.
First, Yoshino thinks of Byakuya as an adult. Soooo she automatically respects him and is very polite because respecting your elders is just the correct thing to do. From the way he's dressed, she assumes he's from the past and that he knows something about swordsmanship which automatically interests her. Also, his face is awfully stern and kind of scary, he could stand to soften it up.
She thinks he's very serious, solemn, and is probably no fun to be around for a really long time, but it's a good change of pace. Calm, responsible adults are nice to be around in this crazy camp. After all, at home and at school, Yoshino was the "crazy", impulsive and irresponsible one which is clearly not the case at all in camp. And he doesn't react badly to light teasing so Byakuya is alright by Yoshino's book.
Generally, Byakuya doesn't really care one way or the other about humans, but Yoshino is one of the few that he's met that he would actually initiate conversation with should he happen to see her around. He thinks she quirky and has a good head on her shoulders. Also, he will never not be amused by that drawing she did of them.
There was more, but my brain died. If I think of it, I'll reply again. XD;
