I find the whole concept of HOAs to be thoroughly un-American.

Since the bylaws allow them to foreclose on my house for non-compliance, perhaps this is a great way to get out of my underwater mortgage.

stupid HOA, that is the dumbest thing I have read in a long time. Of all the things they need to worry about, they are arguing about some lamp posts. I would understand if they are messed up or degraded from the look of the property but otherwise, who gives a rats ass? And the fact that they expect you to put forth the money to replace them in this crapped up economy is insane. It truly is micro-tyranny at work.
