Ah, Luke show me this puzzle one before. [Amu had been sitting next to Layton as he told the puzzle. She listened, but ultimately could not completely make out everything he said. She had heard something similar from Luke, though.]
Ah, cannot remember how to solve.

This one can be solved just by trial-and-error. I believe I have some coins, if a visual aid would help.

[She nods.]
Try with hands, do it, me. I try to figure out with coins!

Wait just a moment, then.
[He goes off to his room, and comes back with six coins -- three grey, three brown. He lays them down.]
Decide which are the dogs and which are the chickens, and try moving them around.

[She nods and looks at the coins.]
Grey dog and brown chicken.
[She smiled and placed the six coins to her left. After a few minutes of trying and failing she groaned.]
Ah, hard.

Try and move all the dogs over first, then see where you can go from there.

[Amu hummed for a bit, looking down at the coins. She started to move the coins as he suggest.
Two dogs, one dog, two dogs, one dog.
A dog and a chicken...ah...that left three dogs and chicken on the same side!
Amu thought for a moment, looking at the coins intently. How did she--? Oh!
Two grey, one gray one brown, a grey, a grey and a brown, grey, grey and grey!
Amu grinned and looked up at Layton.]
I did it!

Excellent work. It doesn't seem so hard now, does it?

[She shook her head and beamed up at Layton.]
I understand now! Simple!
