I'm afraid that I simply cannot help myself when I say this, how incredibly rude it may seem.

Correct.

We'll see how far you can go with these then.

"Three people at odds with one another are running for mayor in the upcoming town election. Including these three candidates, the town has a vote population of 40 people. In order to win, a candidate must get more votes than any other candidate.

If each of the 40 voters casts a single vote and every vote is recognised, what is the fewest number of votes a candidate needs to secure victory with certainty?"

They need 20 votes to secure a certain victory.

I can certainly tell that, however, despite your correct answers so far, there is a long way to prove yourself.

"Use the lamps to light up the dark forest paths. For each lamp, assume it's light reaches to the end of any straight road. Use the fewest lamps possible to light all of the paths.
