Rather than trying to catch myself up on all the time that's passed since I posted something of substance, I'm just going to put up pics and explain them.
These are beautiful! You must be having such an amazing time! WHY DO YOU LOOK SO INEXPLICABLY DISGRUNTLED IN EVERY PICTURE TAKEN OF YOU? And your Drew is adorable.
Thanks! I look disgruntled because I've gotten really sick of the happy, smiling, peace-sign face Japanese people always pull in pictures. I suppose it wouldn't kill me, would it? but I don't like them anyway.
I've only been to the one so far, got plans to go to another, Walpurgis, in two weeks. The first time at "Dark Castle" they played almost all beat-heavy, lyrics-light synthy stuff, except for one dj, who played suckiness. This time there wasn't the awful set to contend with, so that was nice, but the mixing quality is pretty low, and you know how I am about song selection.
The club itself is really small and very loud, so as I pointed out, earplugs are a must. In addition, smoking is allowed, which makes my night worse, but apparently everyone else's better.
The live acts were about the same each time, which is to say very ok. Actually, the two bands we saw twice, Auto-mod and Destruct System were much better the second time, partially because we had earplugs and could hear what they were saying.
hey, just wanted to touch base, the trip is coming up soon (less than a month!). i'm not sure how else to get in touch with you besides lj. could you maybe email me at boesesauge at hotmail.com w/ your phone number if applicable, your full address, and let me know if you can meet us at the airport or where you would want to meet on saturday afternoon, July 7th (i'll let you know the exact time our flight's supposed to arrive), assuming everything's still on :)
i'm nervous everythings going to be in kanji or something and we won't be able to figure out how to get anywhere, haha. still excited, looking forward to seeing you and some of the amazing sites there like you've been posting in this journal!
