Kamakura 6-15-07

These are pictures from my trip to the center of Japan's first Bakufu (tent-government), known as the Kamakura Bakufu, which ruled Japan (at least in part, see _my plan_ for more info) from 1185 to 1330. Didn't do much by way of history-seeing, which was too bad, but did lots of temple-seeing, which was beautiful.

1. Boy, why you got a newspaper on your head?

2. That water garden is beautiful. I'm a TOTAL sucker for a water garden.

3. The stick-whacking temple is so impressive. If I ever build my own house, I want it to have a roof like that. And if anyone asks me why my roof's so big and heavy-looking, I'll say, "So I can whack you with a stick."

4. I remember Minamoto Yoritomo from your Plan presentation! (You made information stay in my brain!) I'm glad you got to see that.
