Pretest! Please take it if you have a few minutes (should take about 5).

I'm posting this for two reasons. First, to play with lj polling, and second, in case I have to skip the "real" pretest because the IRB approval doesn't come in time...grr ( Read more... )

Forget matreshkas!

Who in their right mind would want that Cup Clip?! It would be THE thing to knock over by accidentally slamming your elbow into it or walking into it! I'd do it like 5 times per day!

Ha! I think I can see that my answers correlate a lot stronger with angerona's answers than with anybody else's. :) Although I'll need to talk to her about that the Ant Colony (come on, if you have to keep some animals for the kids, this is the way to do it -- very practical!) and the Cup Clip (it IS a cool things to have -- very unique).

If you have to have some animals for the kids... now who says we have to have any animals for the kids? I think the ant colony is a bit creepy. Perhaps you are being affected by our discussion with someone who'd like an ant colony :)

how about we buy a bow instead, and then kids can hunt their own animals? :) No, wait, that would include us!

For the record, in case anyone is looking at people's answers, my answers aren't mine - they're from my officemate who was my beta subject to see how long the test took (she took 3.5 minutes for the paper version). Though I did get one of her answers wrong and it doesn't let you change after the fact. :(

I figured I'm way too biased to do my own answers after researching each one of these objects and having a purpose in mind for them for the main experiment. :p

You can change your answers.

Click on the poll.

Then click on the "Fill in the Poll" (or whatever it is called in your LJ style scheme). That shoudl be the first link on the top.

Huh, so you can! Thanks! :) (And I fixed it so all "my" answers should now match up with hers, if I translated them correctly).
