I admire her practicality, although the situation was horrendous. Her thought that There was no time to be horrified, now struck me both as a sign of her desperation and her humanity.
While as if their original owners were only glad to donate them to this morbid collection is a wonderful evocation of both form and mood.
The fact that she stopped long enough to vandalise the place, told me more about her feelings than perhaps any other single thing. Very good.
