I've been searching for a while for a nice little recorder to take to coventions. I miss my little tape deck - but it just doesn't really do the trick any more. I've been looking at the R-09 -- I hope you'll post a review at some point. Though I'll probably end up spending my money on a USB adapter for the laptop-of-the-year. The $400 that the R-09 would cost would pay for something like an Edirol UA-25 plus a couple of microphones. Much bulkier, but maybe a better fit for my current workflow.

It's moot at the moment -- I don't need it right now, and I'm trying to both save money and avoid distractions. Both are hopeless, of course, but I can still drool over the R-09 and feel virtuous about not buying one.
