Have you read Camus’ essay, The Absurd Man? If not, here’s a link (it’s not that long). http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/00/pwillen1/lit/absur.htm I read that after reading The Stranger, and it provided a lot of interesting insight into the condition of the protagonist. As well, he makes it clear that he does not fully relate to or advocate the absurd lifestyle, and definitely not to the extremes portrayed in the book, however there is some value to the principles, in my opinion.
