You understand the deal with biolife, right? They want to get you in the door the maximum humanly allowable times per month. To that end they give you bonuses for coming in "extra" times, but they dole them out in such a way that they try to screw you as much as they can. Their logic is really refutable when you think about it - why does their week only count starting Monday-Saturday? Why don't I get the extra $20 if I give on Friday and then gave again Monday as long as it was 2 donations in a 7 day period, it shouldn't matter, right? No, they are trying to mold you to certain appointments to make it harder for you to make them, and thus your bonus. Other things like the fact they're only open at certain times and they take appointments is all about staffing or for medical reasons - you have to have a minimum number of people there in case there's an emergency, and they don't make money if one person is donating and there are 5 people working. I don't get why they aren't at least open till 3 PM on Saturdays, in a college town ( ... )

Here's the deal. I'm not being a slave to their system or their money. I save that money now for wedding business and stuff. I don't usually spend it on lasagna. It would a been nice to get those $20 bonuses...i will get one, but not two and thats alright. I don't care.

I'm just trying to tell you that there is an opportunity cost to you to go through plasma donation. When you donate, from an economic standpoint, the time you spend sitting in the chair listening to Biolife Ads on Q107 is time you could be spending doing something else. So if you missed your appointment, don't feel so bad - you have a free hour then to relax, or plan a wedding, or watch Clerks, and if you didn't have to then drive to Marquette, then that's even more time. It depends on how much money you think your time is worth.
