As if I haven't been telling people about this enough..

IT HAPPENS.  Maybe I should say SH!T HAPPENS. GET ONE.  I'm tired of feeling sorry for people.

Did this happen to you?

I've been thinking about getting one for the past few months but I haven't had the motivation to hand over the money for it...

Haha, well I meant this for incoming freshman....but I'm glad you read it!

I had a hard drive die on me a few years ago, but luckily that was before I got a digital camera so I didn't lose pictures and stuff - just music. But last year I tried to recover data of like 3 floor mates, and just recently my friend's hard drive died, and none of them had a backup drive...

They're relatively inexpensive now! 160gb portable drive for $80 http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Passport-Essential-Portable/dp/B0012GR02W/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1220861708&sr=8-4

So you'll be happy to know I just got one the other day at Costco. I feel much more secure now. :)

Fantastic! That's actually like the best place to get them because they give you a nice carrying case if you buy the portable ones.

Have fun at retreat, btw! I'm...in the sun too..just with highschoolers.
