Have finally given up on HW announcing Hawkfest, and have just booked our flights to the UK.

So....for those of you going to worldcon....what do your travel arrangements look like?  We are arriving the day before (cheaper flights).  If anyone else is as well, up for dinner somewhere that eve? twoeleven and dnereverri, I'm looking your way ( Read more... )

we feel your burning gaze, and are attempting to get organized. :)

if you're looking for things to do, i'm likely to try to spend at least part of this trip on some sort of photo-safari, and i'm very fond of rugged areas. my maps seem to indicate that britain has some of those. :) hiking (read: aimless wandering) and much gazing at scenery are indicated.

if you've not gotten flights yet, usair out of philly is the cheapest method of getting there right now...

heh. Yeah, I think Britain can show you rugged areas. BTW, the lake district isn't very far away and is supposed to be gorgeous. See http://www.lake-district.gov.uk/ or http://www.cumbria-the-lake-district.co.uk/

The Lake District is beautiful- I really recommend Hard Knott Fort for a place to visit.

I spend quite a lot of time in Brum, so if you're about there give me a yell and I'll see if I'm across the water at the same time as you.

Still undecided about WorldCon...
