I have tons of CDs I've never bothered to rip for whatever reason. As such, many of them I have not listened to for years. Some of them I've probably not played since before moving to Russia, nearly six years ago. Now while I obviously kept all these discs because I liked them c. end-2001, some of them probably don't necessarily merit another ( Read more... )

I voted for the Silver Scooter/Cursive split. The SS songs are weak, but "Tide Rush In" is one of Cursive's all-time best jams. RIP THAT SHIT.

and you should be shot for having a zemfira disc in your collection. i sure hope it's a pirate and not something you paid full price for.

Schliefer is a dad in DC, in the process of divorce. I dunno about the rest of the guys, since I never really hung out with them. I imagine they're still jamming in some form though. If you are on odnoklassniki, I can shoot you Marc's profile there so you can drop him a line.

And yes, I realize, Zemfira condemns me, but I kind of liked that SPID song when I was doing study abroad in 2000. I haven't listened to the album in at least six or seven years, so there's that. And yes, it was most definitely purchased at Gorbushka or some other pirate CD kiosk. I didn't have the money in 2000 to spend 300 rubles on CDs!

Why do I always vote for these things late? I've never heard the SS/Cursive splitI like Silver Scooter, and Cursive had a few good songs here and there.
