If you must get a PSP at least wait for it to be released domestically due to region compatibilities (not sure if this is an issue, but I'd look into it.

Everyone recently (myself included) seems to be turning into a poker nut...

actually, someone informed me of the cons of psp.
and yes, i did look into that beforehand.
until it is released march 24th, it will not be compatible with north american games.

There are region incompatibility issues since the PSP operates off of miniature DVDs. Sony has an obsession with starting new formats and acquiring rights to them. It usually pays off though.
