no, i get your views on the marriage needing to be more sacred kind of thing with everyone throwing it out there and getting engaged and then breaking off engagements like it's nothing. i feel the same way. this past summer, two of my friends got engaged after going out for about a year and while they had problems on and off. after they got engaged, the problems got worse and they called it off, though they're still together. part of me thinks maybe they did it because though they're in love, they maybe thought it would help them. and then i don't know if you know, but kirsten hall got engaged this fall and it was all sorts of weird for me; she seems to have become a completely different person in 3 years than the one i knew. oh well
