Nora tells me I got second place in the Swarthmore poetry contest. YAY! (Though I haven't seen anything in writing yet)

I did not, however, get the junior summer stipend for creative writing, which would have let me relax about my summer plans SO much more. Those of you I've talked to about this know how much I wanted that stipend. I feel my reasons

Sorry about not getting the stipend, but still, yeah, congratulations on the contest! You're right--not a privilege many enjoy, but you're one who deserves it!

I certainly hope there won't be any throwing of nice things into volcanoes anytime soon but if there must be, throw your notebooks. We like you too much and you can always write new poetry.
