As others have said, yes, love the conventions of society posing such a detriment to Jack's lifestyle and values. I found myself charmed by him, as he curses the clocks and machinery that would steal him from his pleasures. Very much the lost child being called away from his play. And couldn't help but smile at the Jack-speak, so nicely done here.

She'd of chosen, or possibly only wished, to have been braver when the world swooped in and tore her stories away; took her heart, beating, begging, and calling the way back.

Ow. D:

On a lighter note...

She imagines, sometimes, that he may have missed a calling as an actor.

Haha. Ha. Hahaha. XD

..... I love you for being the only person who gets that, and giggling with me. Like, really.

Immensely long story short (without giving you half my life story): the inspiration for much of my Jack characterization is based on a ex almost!lover of mine, who I still maintain a close, if not complicated, relationship with. I am, however, quite happily engaged. Ah, tyroantiheroine knows this first hand cause she has come out here and visited me numerous times and had the occasion to meet said Jack!muse, and he is... an actor, like, as occupation, so, bit of an inside joke, I imagine.

That was very intresting. And oddly sad. Got a fairytale feel to it to. Especially the end.

The fairytale feel was accidental, but I thank you for the feedback, as I've only just realized that a lot of my stuff ends up reading like some dark, perverse, sort of sad fairytale....

So, just so ya know, you sort of, with this comment, inspired my very deliberate fairytale-esque vignette which I just posted. :) Sothankyouthankyou.
