yeah, it's been a while

yeah, the morons broke in again.
they managed to steal....more garbage...and a 15 inch flat panel lcd. that's like...what, 1 out of 50 possible points for theftage?
well, they tried and all.
other things that have happened...we went to dc, yay! found pix from our earlier trip to dc that we thought were lost in a backup drive crash (on the memcard in the camera, how sad are we?); they're around here somewhere, ask me later. we went to chicago, which provides much thanksgiving squee!, again...pix around here somewhere. ooh went to cali! not actually much exciting that trip. went to disneyworld again! yeah we said we wouldnt...our resolve is weak. or was. i'd rather chew off my own arm than stay in another disney owned/operated hotel. don't tempt me. i might chew off yours just to make sure.

new years eve! i think i went to bed early.

surgeries, recoveries...ice storm...ooh another trip to cali! this one went nicely, i have pix somewhere, they might be posted already. and another trip to cali! pix? bueller?...and then our lease was up
and we moved out of louisville (during derby festival, lets consider how hard it is to hire help during the two weeks when NO LOCAL IN THIS TOWN IS WILLING TO GO TO WORK EXCEPT THE JOCKEYS.....but we're happy there *were* people that were willing to work this year, and hauled our stuff to the shipping crates which have carried it all to denver.)

but our new lease in denver doesnt start until july. and we inherited a house in TN that we need to empty and sell. so in the gap we are living here in the house we own. which we hate. with the fire of a thousand suns. a. thousand. suns. as a bonus, i'm allergic to it, and have been vaguely ill since we showed up.
i got new drugs at my annual today, which ought to help, so yay! but also %#*$&@(@.
also, as a point of relative suckage, the day before we moved down here, the most likely culprits for our breakins apparently rolled up at the neighbors house and shot their dog - which was sitting on their porch. to hell and back with our trash...i want them put away for the many animal shootings they are suspected of. those are more important. and yes, the animals in question are all dead. thus the very high level of importance.
in other news, we bought a VW R32, and we're having a yard sale next weekend to dispose of many salable kitchenery items.
the cats have adjusted well to the temporary digs, the gray gets carsick...i had to stop twice driving down to wipe out her carrier and her fur...any ideas that dont require prescribed tranqs? that work on more than an anecdotal/marketing hype level. i'm not using her as a test case for anything. not when we have to drive cross country.
other, other news...i bought a pair of sunglasses last year, which began to peel last fall...some factory coating that couldnt survive actual use. got around to sending them back to the mothership for repair/replace under the lifetime warranty a few weeks ago. i dunno whether to be sad or happy that the lenses (which i could have bought replacements for) were deemed 'unrepairable'....so instead of my own glasses with new lenses, ive now received a complete new set of frames and lenses. the warranty claim had an entry for 'if we have to replace your discontinued frames, what would you prefer from our current catalogue' so at least these are frames i 'chose' as preferred...but i didnt choose them thinking yeah i want a different pair of frames, i chose them thinking 'these are an acceptable pair of frames'...happy sad...i dunno..i have new sunglasses and omg have i missed having a decent pair of eye armor these past couple weeks. i know i sound like a whiny little brat complaining that my frames were replaced whole hog just because my lenses failed. but i picked them *on purpose* damnit...instead of the competing (but still current) frames i now own...i don't feel right complaining to the manufacturer that i dont actually want the replacements i already told them were acceptable...but damnit...i wish they'd chosen otherwise. i should give the new frames a chance, i know...i might like them better, after all. whinewhinewhine. i hate this house.

I would have been perfectly happy ransacking this house a year ago, in a hazmat suit; every room, drawer, cupboard, and box(most belongings were never actually unpacked and 'moved in') - taking home everything remotely interesting, valuable, or desirable...and dousing the remainder in gasoline and LIGHTING IT ON FIRE ON MY WAY OUT OF TOWN. but after reading through the local fire code, it turns out they frown on that sort of thing. so the less gleeful option prevails...what is our world coming to?
