So, LJ announced that they're partially reversing that Facebook/Twitter connect thing that everyone hates. Partially reversing it sometime in the unspecified future. It took them over a week to make any kind of statement on this issue that's had thousands of users flipping out. Nice PR, huh? And staff were reportedly trolling users in the comments under sock accounts during this time. And there's that whole bit about a SUP advisor basically saying that unhappy LJ users are just trolls.
This pisses me off, you guys. Same way it pissed me off the last time LJ management screwed over its users and didn't seem to care. I said this isn't going to stop and anecdotal evidence suggests that I'm right. The only reason I started posting on LJ again was because Insanejournal is pretty much a wasteland for fandom. I regret that I went back on my word. Except that being part of a strong, active community is worth it.
Dreamwidth, though, is showing marked efforts at community-building. I'd much rather give my content and support to a site that respects its users and embraces fandom. It sucks that Livejournal can ignore its own TOS because people as a whole keep sitting here and allowing it. So I'm not going to crosspost. I'm going to keep the vast majority of my posting on Dreamwidth, and just use this account for commenting and maybe the odd dumb meme.
