When did it get to be January 25th?

I think that's amazing that she left such an impact on her students that they remember her and cared enough to go to her funeral after all this time. What a wonderful testament to her character. ::hugs::

Thanks. Yes, I think it's a wonderful testament to her character as well. I kind of wish some people would have found her before she died, I know it would have meant a lot to her to know how she impacted people's lives.

I agree. That's kind of a reminder to all of us, I think. Make sure the people who mattered to you know itl

She was born in 1916, so was 94 already. That is very cool about the student showing up after all this time.

Am with you on the funeral/memorial thing. If I can't have a full-on Viking boat burial, then I want to be cremated and everybody can have a memorial in a really good pub.

I'm with you on cremation, I think. The idea of being buried in a patch of ground, which then won't get to be used for anything else, seems weird and pointless to me. But I guess on some level I recognize that it's not about me, because I'll be in no position to care, and I should probably leave it up to the people it actually will affect.

Yeah, I know what you mean. If you have people in your life that actually care what happens to you then they're the ones who matter. But I have noticed frequently the thing other people want to do is go with the dead person's wishes. But I agree with you, it's not like it will matter to you. It's just a body...
