I'm still a little bit in shock I think. Last night around 7:30 or so I found out that my grandfather had died. He'd been taken to the hospital the night before and as of yesterday afternoon was doing fine. Then he just crashed and there was nothing they could do for him. -

Oh the joys of technology. Stephan and I spent a good chunk of this weekend fighting with my mom's desktop. She'd gotten a virus several weeks back, I got rid of it, and then the desktop started locking up, failing to boot, and wouldn't even let me repair install or install a new OS (be it vista or linux ( Read more... ) -
Idiots abound
I meet one set of enumerators every morning around 9 at a local coffeehouse. For the most part we're left alone while we do our thing for an hour or so. The owner is super nice to us and usually asks me if I want chai that morning or not (and today even set aside the last raspberry scone for me ( Read more... ) -
So drained
While I know the pay check is going to be amazing and all that, I can't help but wish that this job was a bit better on the hours. Working 9+ hour days Monday - Saturday and 3-5 hours on Sunday is just... too much. -
Like hearding lolcats
I would KILL for a day off. Seriously. Since Tuesday I have been putting in 8+ hour days that consisted of me having to sit in front of a room of strangers and train them on what they have to do for the census. the room I was in was HUGE so I had to to all but yell to be heard. Update on life things

I'm sitting on stephan's bed right now on his laptop. I sent him an IM, being cheeky since he's like 4 feet away, and his firefox window with all 40+ tabs crashes. Related? Probably not, but damn it was amusing.
