personally, i think true love doesn't make you blind. i think infatuation makes you blind. true love is when you trust everything they say, but still know when you need time apart. true love is more like the "emo" state that you described. and not all guy hurt less i know several guys that hurt more when rejected. but true love doesn't make you blind. true love is when you see the flaws, but care too much to ask them to change.
Ceci, I agree with the infatuation-making-people-blind thing. My boyfriend got infatuated with a girl when they started talking and it caused him to just treat me like shit. It caused him to do a lot of crazy things, when really he was in love with me. After you get into just true love, there isn't any of those "new" feelings and that's what he was feeling with her. Those new feelings are new so they seem stronger, but really they aren't. And yeah I have to comment to the guys hurting less things, it's not true. It's different in every relationship because it depends on the individual person. It depends on who dedicates themself 100% and who dedicates themself 99%, and "plays games" too. In my closest friends relationships, the guys hurt more. In mine, I used to hurt more, but now it seems to be even.
True love is when really your life changes for them, you do things for them, you change the way you do things so you can compromise for them...it's really like you have to work on being one person instead of two.
