Han Geng, of SM Entertainment's thirteen-member Korean boyband Super Junior (and its Chinese spinoff unit, Super Junior - M, of which he is the leader), has recently filed a lawsuit to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment.
Since then, fans have waited anxiously for an official statement from SME or Hangeng himself- neither of which have issued any form of comment.
Fellow Super Junior (and SJM member) Kyuhyun has, however, made a comment in english about the situtation in his cyworld's personal entry page:
Even a beast don’t bite the hand that feeds one…I can not understand
Since then, SME has attempt to talk out the problem with Hangeng- the results of this conversation has been unfruitful, as the situation is still developing and shows no sign of resolution.
Super Junior's fanclub, Ever Lasting Friends (abbreviated as E.L.F.), has issued something like a call to arms to its fellow members, stating that the fanclub, as a whole, will continue to "protect" and support the group. how they'll manage this, I haven't a clue. (translation of the manifesto here)
Rumors are flying as some speculate that this incident may have something to do with the previous TVXQ lawsuit, suggesting an internal problem with the company. Others wonder if Hangeng will take on solo activities in China. There is no word out to confirm or deny these rumors.
