Lisa, Sorry that this happened to you. I totally agree with you...I'm done with religion too...have been for a while! Tired of the "playing church" while living like the devil scene....also tired of the judgemental, "you have to do things according to 'MY' translation of the Bible", works-based, pious, self-consumed, God-boxed, legalistic version of what should be....freedom, grace, love, salvation, peace, God centered new life!! Whew, why we as Christians strap ourselves down and make ourselves "useless" by carrying the heavy burden of religion, when Christ offers us freedom and grace. We do not have to try to be perfect, we simply have to love Christ more than this life and everything falls into place. We are covered by the Blood of Christ and it's as simple as that...it's nothing we do...just have to accept it and know who we are in Christ. That cuts away all the crap and frees us up to be who Christ intended us to be.
Well, glad to see you back on lj...I took a "leave" from lj too....life can get too busy sometimes.

Lisa... you wrote this almost a year ago. You stood for me, and I will never ever forget that. I cherish what you did . We all make mistakes, and I made a horrible one. However.. thank you for your forgiveness and standing with me. As time has gone on, the Lord has been showing me the depth of his grace and his love. "While we were yet sinners.. Christ died for us!!" Thank you Jesus!! What a blessing.. and what a blessing to have those who stand for those things that are good.

The more I know of grace, the more amazing it is. I am ever mindful that the Lord is near the humble but sets His face against the proud. I don't want to be in the latter group. It is not my place to punish those He has forgiven. It is my place to extend His grace even further. I am glad you felt someone standing with you. The body of Christ is not about isolation.

Thank you for your example to me. "Grace" is something the Lord has really been showing to me. We hear it all the time.. but do we understand it?!?!? If we get it from the Lord, how can we not give it to another. We all need it so much! Sometimes I think He allows us to go through things. He allows us in our "self" to bring us to a place where His Grace is real. I know I only seen a gimpse now, but just think of the Glory we will see when we have that full knowledge and stand before Him face to face. What an awesome thought!
