The view from where I'm sitting...

The church picnic yesterday was misery redefined. It was so hot and miserably humid. And breezes were rare. I am not one of those overly sweaty persons, but I was drenched head to toe. My hair looked like I'd gotten it wet. All that sweat, and too much humidity for it to dry. Ew. Still, the experience was redeemed with one good conversation ( Read more... )

No, it's not easy to lay down control. God isn't tame. We can't manage Him. There are no guarantees that it will work out well for us. Still, if I remain in control I have a Lisa-sized life. I don't want a Lisa-sized life. It's small and limited and pathetic. I want a God-sized life, which is an infinite in possibilities as God Himself is. For me, that's reason enough to not give up the pursuit of laying it all down...
