Taxi Cabs

It recently occurred to me that San Diego has a really wide variety of taxis. Sure, we have a few yellow and orange cabs, but they don't dominate the taxi scene like they do in other cities. We have a lot of blue cabs, some silver cabs, multi-colored cabs, even pink cabs. As of Tuesday evening I have started writing down the names of taxis I see

I think I recall reading somewhere that the yellow cabs are the official cabs but they don't do pickups or show up outside of downtown so much etc. so they leave plenty of room for all the other companies to maneuver.
