actually, hamill had the accident in between new hope and empire. the scene with the wampa was written into empire to give an explanation of why his face was so scarred. notice you never see his face until after the bacta healing tank.

Ahhh... the four times he's been on the radio out here, he's been rather vague about when and what happened. I guess he doesn't like to talk about it.

But, as he said, he's making more now doing just voice-acting than he ever made on Star Wars! *LOL*

read his bio and quotes on imdb. he's always been vague about the accident, claims he only broke his nose . the scars on his face in empire say differently. i'll see if i can find anything in my dads old starlog magazines.
