"I hadn't grown quite as much as I would have liked before this year." Well, I think this entry has shown that what you have taken in and processed this year has made up for many deficiencies of the past. You have brought up the main dilemma for many of your peers as we transition from that childlike idealism to the harsher reality of life. But I'm so glad that you can realize that you are generally happy, because it means that you can balance a sense of optimism with the tempering effects of reality. And at the end of the day, it is getting away from the extremes of life that will help you become a more complete person. Good for you!
