"As a heads up:

I would assume any AIM screen name with the name "salmon" in it to be a bot--so far I know "favoredsalmon," and "diningsalmon," and "hygenicsalmon"* to be bots, along with another. Simply be wary of any screen names with "*salmon."

Specifically, it's a relay bot a-la the "GreatHatsby" bot

ME, by about 5 different 'salmons'. the most recent being 'numericsalmon'.

Well, now the mystery is solved.

Oddly enough, when I tried to copy and paste that post to "DynamicSalmon" earlier... The bot promptly disconnected. How 'bout that?

sorry for my randomness. hahaha, i have been getting these salmon im's for a few weeks now and i just got so frustrated so decided to google it, and your entry came up. hahaha. so, thank you.

Hi, like the other person, I've been bothered by excessive salmon IM's, googled it, and your entry came up. The point of this comment being, yeah, you're not alone. I've just started blocking anything that pops up with "salmon" in the username. Too bad for anyone who actually uses such an id. I was feeling stalked for a while there until I researched a bit more and discovered it was just a bot.

I've also been hit by this and my friend, I'm sending anyone who gets it to this page. It is the only one I can find with an explanation.
