but one thing i've always wanted to do - and you'd probably like to do it too - is join a gun club or something. you know, not buy one, but just go to a firing rage and fire a few dozen rounds off. i don't know where any are around me (and thus me never firing a gun yet), but that'd be fun if you could find a firing range.
as to the raccoon issue, don't let her say things about how things were 'wasted' and what not. just tell her that you loved the times you had and wouldn't have it any other way. y'know?
