San Francisco is very different than Boston in a myriad of ways, but no one event so clearly illustrates this fact than the reaction of passers-by when one's physical person is blocking the only available parking space on a street.

I think the major reason for the difference is that most people who live in San Francisco have never had to shovel out a parking spot.

Glad you're acclimating! I have to go out to Hawaii for work at the end of month and was thinking of stopping by SFO for a couple of days on the outbound journey. Maybe plans to be made?

Absolutely! We have a guest room that is largely full of unpacked boxes now but will eventually be a place for guests. You're welcome to stay! If you're staying with family, that's fine too. Either way, we'll definitely get together. Depending on dates, unsound may be back in Boston working, but I should be here.
