Bel Canto by Ann Patchett, Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Beyond Good And Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche. Animal's People (much profanity but good read) by Indra Sinha, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Brodie books are great and the english is very manageable. Thus far I haven't needed the dictionary once. I have found that I need space between the books though. I think it's the non-linear structure in the storytelling in combination with reading in my second language. I'm normally a fast reader, but the Brodie books forces me to slow down, otherwise I lose essential things in them.
Now I'm going to read all the blurbs for yours an Kat's recs and decide where to begin.
