Maybe I'll start posting to lj....

I've recently had a couple of people suggest to me that they'd find it interesting if I started posting to lj, so I'm considering doing this.  I've had my reasons for not doing so in the past, but have decided I can get over that.   The only remaining question is whether anyone else out there really cares if I do or would be interested in reading ( Read more... )

That's what I try to do. Not so much in public, though.
We'll see how this goes, I guess.

lj supports several levels of non-publicity (friends-only posts, user-designed filters, &c) on both who gets to read what you write and who gets to write in yr journal. so this is also at least a little up to you :)

It's fairly likely that I'll friendslock a lot of the postings, for obvious reasons.

Go for it! The way to find out if anyone's reading is by the number of comments attached to each post.

I'm curious to see how you'd use LJ. I mostly like to post invitations to events/dinner/parties on here, and ask questions that my learned friends can best answer.

Actually, that's not true. many people read things and do not comment, including myself.

I'm not really sure how I'll use it, yet. It may just end up being lots of complaining and really mundane, boring stuff. We'll see.

I skim these days. I write things cuz it helps me to do so, and sometimes it's also helpful to have feedback. I read things when I have time and the subject matter if of interest to me, irrelevant of who is writing. Someone might post something I like reading, or they might post a recipe and, since I'm not cooking a whole lot these days (least not stuff posted in lj), I might skip it.

Btw, hi:)

Based on the response, I think I will.

Hopefully it won't end up just being a whine-fest :-)

If that's all you feel like saying in public, we'll read it anyway. But I know you've got a lot of interesting things to talk about.
