It's a very, very tall man. Riding a bicycle one-handed. The other hand is holding a stick, the end of which is a)slung over his shoulder; and b) adorned with a red piece of cloth with white polka dots.
He's going very slowly. Weaving all over the street. And the whistling isn't quite piercingly loud.
How often do you see something like this in Neptune, Miss C. Mackenzie, Neptune High Class of 2006?
His bike is a little old-fashioned; it's the kind that you can brake by moving the pedals backwards. He doesn't do it quite yet -- first he has to circle around and stop, about twenty feet away from her.
He grins.
His teeth gleam in the street light.
"Hi." Comfortably. (And very deeply.) He doesn't seem like he's going to move any time soon -- either toward her, or away.

God, that guy's built like a truck. It's like an affront to modern physics how he can stay on that bike.
For an instant, she debates going inside -- but it's not like she'd have too far to run, and so she settles for a quick, uncertain wave instead.
('Cause if they're the only two people on the street, it's not like she can pretend she didn't see him.)

A firefly winks near her bare feet. She wiggles her toes at it, absent, without taking her attention off of the guy.
"Are, um, you lost? Or new?"
Colony Place is one more small street in an already small town. There's no real reason to be around unless you live here.
