I am NOT lazy!! Hee!! ;) --kidding!! Though, I like that idea! Sometimes, it helps me to write if I have a definite topic! Are there any that you'd like to see written about? I may give that one a go, though :)
As for your essay, BRILLIANT!! I did notice you didn't write 2 yet but I still love you & your essay rocked!!! You're right about B/M-ers and B/J-ers not being friends. It's so bizarre and stupid!!
Well, I can't say I have seen too much of this but I am an infant in the QaF world right now! I have only been a true, die hard, obsessed, gave my heart and soul over to the damn show for a few months now. I have known about it since it debuted and had the chance to see random eps from each season but finally it got the best of me and I spent the better part of 2 paychecks and a gift card getting the seasons! Now I am all caught *well almost!* and I am really suprised to see how the lines are drawn. I adore discussing this show and I love to pick little details out and really define what they mean for the characters! That's the fun! I am such a Brian/Justin fan, that will NEVER change. I find myself still suprised at how there are people who truly want Mikey's little head on a stick! But hey, I have my own crazy opinions so....for right now I try to not pass judgment...too much! Thanks for the GREAT ESSAY! Brit:)
You can expect one any old day now!:) Writing is one of my passions and with QaF on the brain pretty much 24/7 these days it's only amatter of time! I promise to do one soon! Brit *thanks for the encouragement!:)*
always fun to read more of your essays if I wasnt insane from school crap and rl I might even write one for you unfortunately my muse seems to be broken I think this season is interesting, if a heartbreaking, poor Brian, even if they are making him into a dip, I still feel bad for him. sigh looking forward to more lovely rants from you huggles K
"Is Queer as Folk really that important? It's fiction. You don't need to fight over it with people that you don't know, that you'll never meet. Why take it so seriously, fandom is supposed to be fun!"
Heee, this sounds like something I've thought a million times while reading through arguments and "wars". But to my defense: I've never actually said it to people in the middle of an argument. I find it better to stay away. Or just silently follow the developments ;)
Thanks for sharing your opinions. You're a great writer, and you make some excellent points. It's entertaining!
I think that the virtual aspects of fandom certainly adds to the negative atmosphere. When you speak to a person when you can't see them or hear their voice, miscommunication is easy. You have no idea if someone is insulting you or just kidding around. Words on a page are too easy to misinterpret.
*lol* Well I guess I think that some people take fandom too seriously. But in general, I think that while fandom is fun, I see why people argue over it. If people argue violently over baseball and football, why not a television show? :D
But yeah, it is best to stay away from all arguments. Safety first, as they say. ;)
Anyways, thank you for commenting. I'm glad you enjoyed the essay, found it entertaining. *g*

I think the shipping wars have calmed down recently because with S5 we've gotten a clear and undeniable spotting the real enemy - CowLip.
