Soo Last night I was playing floor hockey like I do most thursday night and I had a slight... bad experiance. We were winning by 3 goals and so they were starting to get intense. I followed one guy into the corner to get the ball from him and then Next thing i know he is attempting to backhand the ball and WHACK. Stick full force into my face.

I think people are not obligated to cover costs of accidental sports injuries, however, it would be the gentleman thing to do. If he's your friend your should ask him if he's willing to help with the dental costs (assuming your not covered).

Well, da guy shulda offered in da furst place. Heck, ya smack sumbuddy in da face hard enuff ta shatter a tooth, ya offers ta pay da dental bills an ya gets em liquored up enuff ta deaden da pain, dat jus a given. Iffin he really culdn't afford ta cover da whole ting, he shulda at least given whut he culd ta help out. Ennyting less an yer jus bein an ass.

Hah, now you're a REAL hockey player! Most players I know outside of college have a great deal of fake teeth. *shrug* Once the dentist works on it, it'll be better. Your nerve is now exposed, which is why it hurts so much.

And the guy shouldn't have to pay for it unless it was an intentional hit to the face. If he did it with purpose, then it's his fault. Otherwise, not really. I once hit a girl who decided to play with a fractured jaw. When she went into the boards, she broke her jaw all the way. She played the sport, it was a legal hit, her loss. Just like if you break an arm or dislocate your shoulder: unless it was a blatant cheap shot that would have gotten a penalty nothing much to do.
