My mom used to pack me off to the local beauty school for my "pixie" cut, uneven bangs and nicked ears. So good on you!

Go Q! Great job.

FYI, you did them inside out, which is both stylier and a bit harder. If you fold the hair to the inside, wrapping the new hair *over*, you get the classic french braid look.

Well, the wrap over rather than under is how I learned to do regular braids, and then I watched a friend do cornrows and she goes under, so I thought I'd try that. I think, actually, doing it that way, differently than I'm "used to" (not that I've done regular braids much), helped me finally succeed at an actual french braid- when I've tried before I've just gotten confused and made a mess and gave up.

Yup, cornrows go under to give that raised up "row" look.

You'll be doing fishtails in no time. ;)
