I'm starting a new series on GazettE lyrics. Basically I'll loosely comb through songs that I find interesting, while at the same time doing some translating with my ever so rusty Japanese. As per usual, I do not aim for any in-depth interpretations - this is just something I do for fun.

Finally! A meaning for my favourite song! Thank you so much!!! Though, isn't the 'reckless driving cucumber' part is actually 'reckless driving memory' ? I listened to the song all over again and couldn't hear the word 'cucumber' at that part. And someone in youtube also said it's actually 'memory' not 'cucumber'. (0.o)...Anyway....Thank you again for this!!! (though I hope that he is actually the one being killed and not her~~)

I checked the official lyrics booklet and it definitely says "cucumber", even though Ruki's pronunciation is very odd. I don't know why anyone would think it's "memory" o.O (By the way, in Maximum Impulse lyrics there is a "cucumber devil", so it might be a favourite word of Ruki's :D)

I hope it was the father who died too, but since the lyrics are from his point of view, it was probably the daughter >.> Ruki likes twisted & dark stories.

Really? Hahaha...guess it's my ears the one that were wrong!!XDD. Did you happen to have interpretation on other GazettE's songs? I love their songs though the lyrics somehow messed with my mind. LOL...So complicated yet so beautiful... love Ruki and his horrible pronouncation! (Though, I love Aoi and Kai more~~hehehe...)

So far I've only done 13Stairs[-1], Swallowtail on the Death Valley, In the Middle of Chaos and Sugar Pain. Would you like to perhaps request some other song? My Japanese isn't perfect, and some GazettE songs are really hard (and so very weird o.o), but I'll try my best!

So, Aoi and Kai are your faves? I love Reita the most, but I adore them all, really, in different ways. They're all such lovely people~

KAI HAD HIDDEN SIDES?? DID YOU MEAN DARKER SIDES???!!

Did he have darker sides that he rarely show to public? I always thought him as the sweetest and kindest among the band members (this is why men who inherit most of their mother's face should NOT have dimples. Its only make them look too cute, innocent and sweet! And of course, melt most girls' hearts~~) .

Really...I'm betting that Kai wouldn't lose in a fist fight if he EVER decided to fight back the endless bully assault from the others(This is quite IMPOSSIBLE I guess. Kai? The kind and sweet drummer FIGHT BACK? The hell might just freezes over if this happens).

It was so nice to watch the conversation between madcreampuff and qasfilan, its 2021 and I just got into Japanese rock, I'm like 17 and it amazes me that is took me this long to get into this stuff and that it came out like 2 decades ago. The conversation between madcreampuff and qasfilan took place a decade ago, I wonder how they're doing now and whether they both are still busy with work. Anyway, thank you for the translation, I read the youtube comments talking about the messed up meaning behind the song and I really wanted to find out.
