Milestone
I am 21 weeks 5 days pregnant today, which is how pregnant Brenda Gill was when she gave birth to the most premature baby ever to survive. It's crazy to think that there's even a ridiculously slim chance of survival for a baby born only halfway through pregnancy. The local paper, The Peninsula, has just had to issue an apology for a news headline last week which referred to people with Down Syndrome and other genetic disorders as "the 'lesser people'"The editor says: "Even though the intention of the editor who wrote the headline was contrary (the phrase in the quotes was meant to make people introspect ( Read more... ) -

We WERE in Delphi!
I think Delphi was the highlight of our trip to Greece, so it's just as well we went on our last day. We finally arrived at 11 last night, spent the night at a nice little hotel, and then spent almost all day today wandering around the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, where the Oracle used to hang out telling passers by that they'd kill their fathers ( Read more... ) -

This was supposed to be the "We're in Delphi!" entry, but alas, we are not in Delphi. Instead we are in Bus Terminal B, or the Lissiou KTEL Station as it is known in Greek, leading me to wonder why the guidebooks insist on giving it a name sure to baffle taxi drivers ( Read more... )
