Went to hang out at Sureshot today to get some Rails reading done (what with having about two weeks to get up to speed with it for ClinicLink) and ended up having a really fantastic conversation with David instead. Later at the ARC FOM class I was sitting thinking about the conversation and pinpointed another thing that I was looking for from my ( Read more... )

One of my goals is to be in a position where there's nothing else I'd rather be doing. It's kind of an ingredient for... what do they call it.. fulfillment.

Ahah, but you ARE motivated by people's responses to what you do, you just like to label it differently. There's no shame in that-- rack it up to a Capricorn thing. We aren't fueled by praise (or approval, we DO know what's best), but it's certainly a nice little cherry. (Just strategically hide your face if it makes you blush.)

Heh. Well, yeah. I think I'm too stubborn to actually let people's responses (or lack of response) affect whether or not I do things, but it does often affect how I feel about the things I do.

It's a strange little set of corners that I'm finding fulfillment in.

Cool. I might join up with you guys one of these days. What happened to the space you used to be at?

I need to go back to the U-district. Just hearing mention of Sureshot makes me nostalgic. I'm too young to be nostalgic for my college stomping grounds!

Sureshot used to be my regular hangout, but with my spending so much time on the Eastside in the last year, it's been more of a pain in the ass to get down there. Being there last night though was really wonderful. I love the vibe of the place; it feels like (yet another home) to me. So I'll probably be found there more and more frequently from now on (and damn the torpedoes). Let me know if you're ever in town and want to join up!

Will do! My actual normal hangout in the U-district was the bubble tea place south of Sureshot on the next block down, that went from being called Gossip to Ginkgo to some pastry place (that still sells bubble tea). Mmm...

I need to figure out what to do over here around Redmond. I've never had much of a clue. :P
