That sounds like the bit of information that was incidentally mentioned in the ICS 100 class, although mostly it was, "Make sure you know your organizations procedures for these things." rather than any standard across all organizations that utilize ICS.

With the ICS it was more handwavy and theoretical, to the effect "there is a procedure, check with your people." This feels actual. "You will get a letter." Pale sky before dawn, a man standing on his saddle to bang on the shutters, all that.

Yes, it was very handwavy and theoretical. I guess it just struck me that exactly what you described above was the logical and obvious way things would be done. Well, maybe minus the database and email (although that makes a lot of practical and efficiency sense). So I guess I'm surprised that this is something that's an interesting revelation for you? *shrug*

Ah, I think you misread what I was saying. I'm not surprised that there is a way somewhere out there, I'm pleased that I now know exactly what is is and that I'm on the list. That it's gone from being theoretical and a possible futury thing to something having a concrete form in my life.
