I've never tried them, but I've been meaning to get some for a while. Although, if you make a point of disinfecting them before use, and you don't use the staple gun with more than one person, you can actually just use normal staples too, assuming that you're not leaving them in, of course.
I'm with neuro42, it's more complicated than that.
They are useful tools for achieving certain results and that makes me happy in the way that having the right tool for the job makes me happy in any setting. I wouldn't say that I am "into" them for the act itself or the cultural things surrounding their medical nature etc.
I haven't tried them yet. I'm more than a little terrified of them! But am definitely into other sharp pointy things in skin, so I suppose the correct answer is "probably".
