I'd say otherwise. Marten was in more of a vulnerable place last time, having just been rejected by Faye, and a lot more vulnerable. That framed a lot of the relationship, since Dora spent a lot of time--even further down the line--feeling insecure about whether Faye's rejection is the only reason Marten accepted her advance. This time around, both parties are--as far as we can tell, anyway--in a situation where neither of them can feel that they're exploiting the other emotionally.
Besides, what with Padma moving for family reasons, this is probably going to be more of a one time thing than it is an actual relationship. I can't see Marten thinking long distance will work again. (IIRC, he's in Boston because of an LDR.)
I don't think he's in a fragile state (no more than he's ever been when he's single), but then again I forget how long it's been in QC time between the breakup and now. In my head, it's been months.
I don't like it for completely different reasons: Padma annoys the shit out of me. Her whole lack-of-impulse-control thing is sucky. Kinda glad she's moving, cuz I could see a storyline sprouting up later revolving around her doing lots of stupid/hurtful crap.
