Motion City Soundtrack is that "friend of a friend" who your best friend introduced you to at their party. You connect instantly, but 10 years later you're married, He/She has gained 200 pounds and is unemployed, and you have 3 kids.

While there are a lot of bands, I've never heard of, this is too much fun to not encourage more.

I did Manitoba/Caribou in the comments on the last post.

DFA1979 was a lot of fun to go out and party with, but you could never just spend a quiet evening in, watching tv.
