Then and Now

As you may know, I'm currently working on putting the first QC book together. It will comprise the first 300 comics, in full color, and should be on sale in the first quarter of 2010 if everything goes according to plan. The art's nowhere near as good as it was circa strip 700.

It's interesting to see it redrawn, but the original is a classic, and I'd hate to see it replaced for good (I know Jeph said he wouldn't be replacing anything, I'm just sayin').

For continuity as far as the book goes, I totally understand the desire to have the earlier stuff redrawn. I can just imagine someone writing a biography about Jeph or "the history of Questionable Content" and there being clips of the old strips stuck in there, showing the progression of the artwork - that'd be great.

Whetever you do with the redrawn comix, keep the originals. My first impression looking at them is that something is gained with the new artwork, but something is lost, too ( ... )
