I have to say that reasonably-sized boobs is one of the things I've liked best about your drawing, Jeph. Too much of the webcomics world is infested with girls with bowling balls and basketballs on their chests (and frankly, the Internet in general seems to imply most girls have said spheres implanted *IN* their chests).
Agreed. I also enjoy the rest of the more realistic touches you get in, like getting Steve to look buff without making him look like a WWE star or a chiseled Greek god... Too many of the webcomics I have seen have trouble with that.
Also, this may sound like a weird compliment, but you do imperfections very well. Cosette's black eye, Hanners' perpetual bag eyes, Marigold's acne... You do a good job of making them noticable while keeping them realistic. I am no artist, but I don't see a lot of that, so I assume that it is difficult to pull off.
Oh, and I guess I like the awesome storyline and stuff... :)
I have to say that Jamie from Girls with Slingshots doesn't just have oversized boobs in the style of most over-endowed women in the wide world of comics (and especially in the wide world of intertubes). She is a big girl altogether. Big arms, big tits, big hips, big thighs. She's not fat, really. Just drawn as an overweight, but gorgeous, curvy girl.
Making her "reasonably-sized" makes me a wee bit sad. Especially as an curvy girl of similar proportions to Jamie.
Oh, and I would like to make a request for Hanners' "OCDelightful" shirt to be made available for sale... I would buy it! Well, maybe if it came in a darker shade of blue. Baby blue does not look good on me AT ALL.
I'm intrigued by the blue line work you got going on there. Do you just sketch the characters on top of another sketch, or are you building your figures off shapes?
And now that I read through the other comments I see that someone has already mentioned it, but as a ginger myself I don't mind reiterating the point...
